Jeff Townsend

Jeff Townsend has been a Principal of the Endeavour Consulting Group since its inception.  He has a background of senior public sector and Ministerial staff appointments.  Between 1978 and 1988 Jeff worked in the Prime Minister's Department and served as Senior Private Secretary to Prime Minister Hawke (1983-1985) and Chief of Staff to Trade Minister Dawkins (1985-1986). He later served as Chief Executive of several ACT Government Departments including the Chief Minister's Department and the Department of  Environment, Land and Planning.

 

 

 

Mark Baker

Mark Baker joined the Endeavour Consulting Group in March 2006.  Uniquely, his career has seen him serve at senior levels in both the private and public sectors and within political circles.

Prior to his commencement with Endeavour Consulting Group, Mark was Group Head of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs for the Westpac Banking Corporation. As such, he advised the Bank’s Board and Senior Management on all legislative, regulatory and reputational risk issues affecting the Bank’s interests. 

Before joining the bank in, he spent two years as a Senior Adviser to then Prime Minister, the Hon John Howard MP, working within the Cabinet Policy Unit. As such, he assisted in the development of whole of Government policy, with day-to-day Cabinet processes and was responsible for co-ordination of the Coalition’s election policy platform. He also served as the Prime Minister's senior speechwriter.

Mark spent 15 years with Advance Bank, culminating in his appointment as Chief Executive – ACT Region. He also served as Secretary of the Department of Business, Arts, Sport and Tourism (ACT Govt).

 

 

Paul Chamberlin

Paul Chamberlin joined Endeavour Consulting in January 2011 after 20 years as a well-known and respected figure on the Australian federal political scene.

Between 1991 and 1998, Paul was a political and economics reporter for the Sydney Morning Herald, the Age and Sky News, and he retains excellent links with the Canberra Parliamentary Press Gallery.

In 1998, he transferred to Government ranks, as Media Adviser to then Minister for Transport and Regional Services, John Anderson. Mr Anderson was subsequently appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of The Nationals and Paul remained with him throughout this period in increasingly senior positions.

Most recently, Paul was Senior Adviser to Warren Truss, current Leader of The Nationals, retaining responsibility for media liaison and speechwriting but also advising on The Nationals’ policy direction, key messaging, stakeholder negotiation and political tactics.

 

 

Dominique James

Dominique James joined Endeavour Consulting Group in October 2008 as Office Manager. This move followed a 10 year career in a high level administrative position for three consecutive Howard ministries. Prior to accepting the position with Endeavour, Dominique was Office Manager to the Federal Director of the Liberal Party Secretariat and preceding this served as Office Administrator to the then Prime Minister, the Hon John Howard MP.
